MRT-7 is a cross between a metronome and a drum machine. Keep time with a simple quarter note or build it into something uniquely yours — Bossa Nova, Rock, Samba grooves and more. Classic drum machine sounds, recorded percussion, and synthesised click sounds for a digital feel.

A+B sequencing lets you layer two clicks and alternate between them — from 1 bar each up to custom sequences. Switch between steady time and subdivisions, or quarter notes and triplets. Perfect for progressive practice: start 1+1, work up to 3+1, 2+2, 1+3.

Choose from waveforms or 8 free drum and percussion samples. Edit pitch, tone and volume. Use 'link sounds' to easily adjust all three sounds at once.

Sequenceable A+B grids. Leave the second grid blank for silent bar practice or create a secondary rhythm.

Tempo Strip

Innovative tempo strip lets you swipe to scrub the tempo, tap the centre for tap tempo, and tap the ends for ±1 BPM increments.

Select your desired count in to start the rhythm. Sequence A+B with one bar each.

Dark and light modes. Customise colours and create complementary combinations. Save your favourite colour palettes.

Pro Features

Grid Editor

Up to 8 rows and 8 subdivisions per row. Create any time signature or meter. Choose how the beat (BPM) applies to the grid with the BEAT button. Beat is shown on the grid with highlighted subdivisions.

Play Modes

Poly Grid Mode layers the rows simultaneously — with different subdivisions this creates polyrhythms and phasing patterns. Dual Mode plays both grids together for more creative options.

Automation

Automate many metronome features using rules. Automate tempo, timer bell sounds, and grid permutations.

Presets

Load and save full presets. Choose to load patterns only, without tempo or saved sounds if needed.

Setlists

Load a preset folder as a setlist. Tap through tempos, grids and settings. Update your setlist on the fly — edit the grid or parameters then accept the update on the tempo strip.

Share & Backup

Share individual presets with another device or musician via link or QR code. Share preset folders as a .mrt7 file. Backup all presets as a .mrt7 file.
